Woodie McLawhorn1,2,3
M, #3477, b. 5 May 1868, d. 20 October 1926
| BirthIlleg* | Woodie McLawhorn may have was been born illegitimate on 05/05/1868 . We know from a review of Woodie's marriage record that he recorded Warren Braxton as his father and Harriet McLawhorn as his mother. We have not found a record of Warren and Harriet being married. In 1886, when Woodie was born, Warren's first wife Sarah Cox Braxton was still alive and they and their family were recorded in the 1870 census without the mention of a child named Woodie. This leads us to several possible scenarios. 1). Woodie was born illegitimately from a relationship between Warren Braxton and Harriet McLawhorn 2). Woodie's father was another Warren Braxton. Although we have not found another Warren Braxton, we have found several Braxtons with the middle name of Warren. Could one of these have been Woodie's father? 3). Woodie's parent's information could have been recorded inaccurately.1,4
