She was the daughter of Hardee Thomas Craft and Ellen Faye McGlohon Craft.

Will*She made a will at Pitt County, North Carolina, on on 08/17/1861. In the following will, the individual named Archable appears to have been Apsley's brother, Richard Craft. Could this have been his middle name?

The will appears to have not been recorded with the clerk of the court and has been passed down through the family. Vickie Braxton has a copy. It is written as follows:

"August 17, 1861

State of north carolina and county of Pitt
I Apstley Craft being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly exsistence do make and declair this my Last Will and testiment in manner and form following that is to say. Her household included Apsley, age 40 and Mary, age 35. Nellie's real estimate was valued at $200. Mary was the only one that could read and write. They were all born in Pitt County, NC. Nellie kept house and Apsley and Mary were domestic servants..4 
Census 1880*Apsley was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census at Contentnea Township, Pitt County, North Carolina. She was recorded as age 50 and living in her household were Mary, age 40 and Hazzard, age 5. Mary was recorded as Aspley's sister and Hazzard was recorded as Aspley's son. However, we know from other records he is Mary's son..7
