On this day Warren and his wife, Cennetta, deeded 250 acres free of charge and mortgage to Warren's sons David Ward Braxton, Felix Warren Braxton, and Henry Clay Braxton. The deed is recorded in Deed Book R4, Page 530 at the Pitt County Courthouse in Greenville, North Carolina and is written as follows:

"This deed made on this the 31st day of August AD 1886 by Warren Braxton and Cennetta Braxton his wife of Pitt County and of North Carolina, to Henry C. Braxton, David W. Braxton and Felix W. Braxton of said county and state, witnesseth, that said Warren Braxton and Cennetta Braxton his wife, for an in consideation of the good will and affection and one dollars, to us in hand paid by the said Henry C. Braxton, David W. Braxton and Felix W. Braxton receipt for which is hereby freely acknowledged, has bargained and sold and by these present do bargain sell and convey to said Henry C. David Ward Felix W. Braxtons (excepting in life estate of the said Warren Braxton) and their heirs, a certain tract or parcel of land in said county and state, lying on the east side of Swift Creek and bounded as follows: begining at a lehistunt (sp) oak at the edge of Cedar Swamp the with a line of marked trees on C.C. Patrick line to Joab Herrington line there with said Herrington line to a sweet gum W.L. Stocks corner thence with Stocks and W. F.
