It was described as containing 50 acres, more or less, and being on the "Horse Pin Branch". This would appear to be part of John Braxton's 1773 land grant for 180 acres. This deed was witnessed by John Fulford and Hardee Handcock. This deed is recorded at the Pitt County Courthouse in Greenville, North Carolina in Deed Book M, Page 691.
