He sold property at Pactolus, Pitt County, North Carolina, on on 11/08/1875. Marcus and Elizabeth sold a 50 acre tract of land that she inherited from the estate of her first husband, S.P. Keel, to Irvin N. Keel for $500.

The deed is recorded in Book C3, Page 112-113..⁵

Deed*

Marcus sold property at Pitt County, North Carolina, on 12/07/1903. M. R. Page and J. D. Bullock Mortgagee, sold 44 acres for $175 to Eureka Lumber Company. This gave Eureka a right away 20' wide for a railroad to be located anytime within the next 8 years from the date of deed. The sum of $10 was paid to M. R. Page for all of the pine of and above the size of 12" in diameter which may now or at any time during the 8 year period grow. The deed also allows Eureka access to the property for the purpose of cutting and removal of trees, building and maintaining railroad, shelters and other fixtures. Eureka may also use the "wood to operate its locomotive while removing said timber." The deed identifies the tract of land as being bordered by J. W. Page on the South, J. H. Whitehurst on the North, C. F. Page on the East and J. D. Wynne on the West..⁶

Deed*

Marcus bought property at Carolina Township, Pitt County, North Carolina, on 02/26/1907. He sold 125 acres to Simeon Cortez Page, his son, for $1,000 and maintained a Life Estate.

This deed is recorded in Book T8, Page 96-97. The land was described as follows:

".... in Carolina Township, begining at a gum, a corner between M.R. Page and John Page on the swamp, thence and easterly course with said John Pages line, thence north with John S Overton and B.B. Nelson line, thence west with John H. Whitehurst, formerly the Williams line, to the swamp canal, thence with said canal south to the begining containing one hundred and twenty five (125) acres more or less...."

Marcus and his wife originally acquired this land from S.R. Ross and wife on November 8, 1885; Book C3, Page 111-112..⁷

Court - civil*

Marcus was a plaintiff in a court case at Pitt County, North Carolina, on 10/26/1908. This case was heard before the clerk of the Superior court to form a corporation to maintain Wichard Canal; which "drains and beautifies" both the plaintiffs and defendants lands. The plaintiffs Marcus, his son Simeon Cortez Page, Annie Page, and approximately 27 other people are trying to get a court order to force the defendants M.T. Keel and J.E. Nobles to participate in said corporation. All of the parties own land adjacent to and were drained and benefited by said ditch or canal. The canal is approximately 5 miles long, 8 feet wide and 3 1/2 feet deep.

Unsure who Annie E. Page is other than it appears that she either owned land adjacent to or near Marcus's lands. He is recorded as owning 40 acres at a total value of $450 and she owned 35 acres at a total value of $400.

These proceedings are recorded in Volume 5 page 471 of the Superior Court Orders and Decrees 1904-1908..⁸

Will*

At age 72, Marcus made a will at Pitt County, North Carolina, on on 01/26/1920. This will was recorded on April 17, 1922 most likely shortly after his death. He left all real and personal property to his son S. C. Page. This will is recorded in Book 6, Page 264..⁴
